Lazy River Camp lies on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta and can be reached by road or helicopter from Maun.


Road Transfers from Maun

Our guide and transfer vehicle departs Maun at 3:00 pm. We can collect guests from Maun Airport, their place of accommodation in Maun, or The Dusty Donkey Café near Maun Airport.

If you need a safe place to leave your vehicle while you are with us, this can be arranged. In this case it is best to meet at 2:30 pm.

Guests who prefer to drive themselves to camp — for example if continuing on a self-drive journey to Moremi Game Reserve — should meet us at The Dusty Donkey Café at 3:00 pm and follow our guide vehicle to camp.

A 4×4 vehicle is essential, as water crossings can sometimes reach depths of up to 1.2 metres.

Depending on seasonal water levels, the drive from Maun to Lazy River Camp usually takes between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes.

The return transfer to Maun normally departs camp at around 9:00 am.

Helicopter Transfers

For a faster and very scenic arrival, helicopter transfers from Maun can be arranged with Helicopter Horizons.

The flight takes guests across the Okavango Delta, offering spectacular views of the waterways and floodplains along the way.

Most guests arrive at Lazy River Camp in the afternoon before beginning their mokoro safari the following morning.
