As we are a little off the beaten track Lazy River is not an easy overnight stop-over for people traveling from Maun to Moremi. We are more a destination that is well worth a little effort to reach and in which to spend at least a couple of nights.
Depending on water levels and the condition of the road and bridges at any given time it can sometimes be a little tricky getting here. As the best route is often changes we ask that visitors either make use of, or follow our transfer vehicle.
We only allow entry to guests who have pre-booked with us via email.
On days when we have bookings a “Shangana Safaris” vehicle and guide leaves the “Akacia Cafe” in Maun at 3pm. It can be arranged for us to look after your vehicle in Maun if you wish, in such cases it is best to meet at 2pm.
Depending on water levels the drive can take between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes.
The return transfer to Maun departs camp at 9am.

Pre-booked self drives are welcome to follow our transfer vehicle, for which there is no charge.
